Qn: How does a Gnani proceed when he needs something to be done?
Ans: He understands the situation and knows what needs to be done. That is all. The rest happens by itself and to a large extent unconsciously. As he responds to the Universe, so does it respond to him.
Qn: Are you a person or a self-aware identity?
Ans: I am both. All attributes are personal. The real is beyond all attributes. You, the Self, being the root of all being, consciousness and joy, impart reality to whatever you perceive.
This takes place invariably in the Now, at no other time, because past and future are only in the mind.
Qn: Is not eternity endless too?
Ans: Time is endless though limited. Eternity is in the split moment of the Now. We miss it because mind does not stop to focus the Now. Energy flows from earnestness.
Qn: I am not earnest enough.
Ans: Self betrayal is grievous. It rots the mind like cancer. Remedy is clarity and integrity of thinking. Once established in the Now, you have nowhere else to go.
Qn: Life is sad.
Ans: Ignorance causes sorrow. A Gnani may laugh and cry but inwardly he is cool and clear. Appearances are misleading. The mind cannot understand, for the mind is trained for grasping and holding, while the Gnani is not grasping and holding.
Qn: An accident would destroy your equanimity.
Ans: Strange, but does not. To my own surprise, I remain as I am, pure awareness- alert to all that happens.
Qn: You see love everywhere, while I see hatred and suffering. The history of humanity is the history of murder, individual and collective.
Ans: The motive is love oneself and one's own. Love is boundless. What is limited cannot be called love. All is loved and lovable. Nothing is excluded.
Qn: Not even the ugly and criminal?
Ans: All is within my consciousness. Discontinuity is the law, when you deal with the concrete. The continuous cannot be experienced, for it has no borders.
Qn: If the immovable cannot be known, what is the meaning and purpose of realization?
Ans: To realize the immovable means to become immovable. And the purpose is the good of all that lives. You become immovable in righteousness. You become a power which gets all things right. Cease being fascinated by the content of your consciousnesses.
A quiet mind is not a dead mind. The waking state differs from deep sleep in the presence of the witness. A ray of awareness illumines part of the mind and that becomes our dream or waking consciousness, while awareness appears as the witness.
The witness usually knows only consciousness. Sadhana consists in the witness turning back first on his consciousness, then upon himself in his own awareness. Self awareness is Yoga.
Qn: Can a blind man once realized see?
Ans: You are mixing sensation with awareness. The Gnani knows himself as he is. He is aware of body being crippled and mind being deprived of a range of sensory perceptions.
Unless his eyes and brain undergo a renovation how can he see? They may or may not undergo renovation depending on destiny and grace.
The Gnani is beyond the perceptual and conceptual, beyond time and space, name and shape. He is neither the perceived nor the perceiver.
However great and complete your world, it is self contradictory, transitory and altogether illusory.
Qn: Illusory but marvelous. I cannot but be astonished at my creativity. Seeing the microscope or telescope, I follow the track of the atom and hear the whisper of the stars. If I am the creator of all this, I am God. But if I am God, why I appear so small and helpless?
Ans: You are God but you do not know it.
Qn: If I am God, the world I create must be true.
Ans: It is true in essence, but not in appearance. The Sattva-guna creates, the Tamo-guna obscures and Rajo-guna distorts. Seek real happiness and leave the world with its pains and pleasures behind you.
Qn: What is sin?
Ans: All that binds you.
Ans: He understands the situation and knows what needs to be done. That is all. The rest happens by itself and to a large extent unconsciously. As he responds to the Universe, so does it respond to him.
