43. Ignorance can be Recognized, not Gnana

Qn: What is realization? Who is a realized man? By what is the Gnani recognized?

Ans: There are no distinctive marks of Gnana. Only ignorance can be recognized, not Gnana. A Gnani does not claim to be something special.

He shows no tendency to proclaim himself to be a Gnani. The words of a Gnani have the power of dispelling ignorance and darkness.

Qn: What is that power?

The power of conviction, based on personal realization, on one’s own direct experience.

Qn: Some practice Yoga for years, yet fail.

Ans: They are addicted to trances.

Qn: The Samadhi Consciousness is intense, yet without results.

Ans: What results do you expect. Why should Gnana be the result of anything.

It is abidance in the Self.

Qn: Did you get realization through effort or grace of Guru?

Ans: His was the teaching, mine the trust.

Qn: Can a Guru give realization?

Ans: Yes, but where is the taker? The majority need time for ripening. Sadhana is accelerated ripening.

A realized man is the most earnest man. When you demand nothing from world and God, you want not, seek nothing, expect nothing, then the Supreme State will come to you uninvited and unexpected.

In fact, the Supreme State neither comes and goes. It IS. Sadhana is a search for what to give up, to know that you need a knowing mind. Look within and see.

All the teacher can tell you is only this. No need of going from one to another.
