90. Surrender to Your Own Self

Qn: I was born in USA. For 14 months, I have been in Ramanashram. I am on way back. I may qualify as a nurse or just marry.

Ans: What makes you want to marry?

Qn: Providing a spiritual home.

Ans: In these 14 months, in what way you have become different?

Qn: I have found peace.

Ans: Is it peace of what you want or not wanting what you do not have?

Qn: Both. I have not reached yet absolute completeness.

Ans: Then you must go on with your Sadhana to dispense with the false idea you are not complete.

Qn: I went to the Ashram because I had an unhappy love affair. Neither drink nor drug could help me.

Ans: If the tragedy happens again, would you suffer as much.

Qn: No, I would kill myself.

Ans: So you are not afraid to die.

Qn: I am afraid of dying, not death.

Ans: Death is beautiful. It happens to the body.

Qn: What is wrong with suicide?

Ans: Nothing wrong if it solves the problem. Where wisdom and compassion are lacking, suicide cannot help. A foolish death means foolishness reborn. Endurance is the wisest. Endurance is meaningful, while agony is useless. We often suffer for the sins of others.

Humanity is one. After Sadhana, Americans and Europeans are charged with energy, become teachers of Yoga, write books, anything except keeping quiet and turning their energies within. Peace is a condition of the mind.

Mind engaged in serving the body, happiness is lost. Pleasure brings pain. Even faith in God is only a stage on the way. Surrender to your own Self, everything is its expression.
